Two topics of interest to general aviation (GA) pilots will be presented in one 90-minute seminar:    1) Flight Data and Performance Monitoring for General Avation    Unreasonable expectations with respect to aircraft performance have contributed to fatal GA accidents. Reasonable performance expectations based on realistic data can result in safer flight operations. This seminar will review monitoring instrumentation currently used by GA pilots and introduce some self-contained flight- and visual- data recorders currently available for general aviation that can help forecast system/component problems before they reach the point of failure.    2) Safety Culture    As humans, we are subject to a variety of cultural influences. This seminar looks at the components of an effective safety culture, how they might apply to an individual, and the value of choosing and promoting a safety culture to the general aviation community.    This is one 90-minute seminar, with a short break between the two presentations.
